Study date: October 25, 2026
Major Tom is the Vancouver marketing agency AI named most, with 54 mentions. Takt came second with 40, then Monday Creative (22), Salt Water Digital and The Status Bureau (19 each). We counted them from 25 questions put to ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overview on October 25, 2026.
In all, the engines named 49 marketing agencies 422 times. The top 5 took 154 of those mentions (36.5%).
These numbers are what the AI engines returned. They are not Beket AI’s opinion or a ranking of quality. AI answers change over time, so read this as a snapshot.

Marketing agencies sell mostly to other businesses. The answers named 49 agencies, against 35 to 39 businesses in our Vancouver lawyers, mortgage and realtors studies. They also gave about twice the mentions, 422 against 210 to 237.
We kept Evolve and Evolve Branding apart, because the answers did not show they are the same agency.
Did ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overview name the same marketing agencies?
No. Each engine had its own list. The name each engine gave most:

How did the engines differ?
Only 3 marketing agencies, Major Tom, Takt and Optimized Webmedia, were named by all three engines. Meanwhile 21 came up on only one engine.
ChatGPT gave 304 of the 422 mentions, so it shaped most of the combined list. Takt led ChatGPT with 34 mentions, but Perplexity named it only 5 times. Major Tom led Perplexity with 24 and was named first there 7 times.
Google AI Overview answered only 4 questions. It named Major Tom and Evolve Branding most, twice each.
How did we run the study?
We ran one Beket AI market audit on October 25, 2026, between 7:18 and 7:27 PM Pacific time. Its location was set to Vancouver, British Columbia, and its language to English.
- Questions. The audit had 25 selected questions, the same on all three engines. None named a business.
- Discovery prompts. The audit also added 4 longer prompts of its own, and the counts include their answers.
- Mentions. A mention is a business named in an answer. Share is a business’s mentions divided by all 422 mentions.
- Times named first. This counts answers where that business came first.
- Threshold. Every name in the results had at least 2 mentions. A business named only once may not appear here.
- Name variants. We combined spellings of the same business, taking 53 names down to 49. The merges are listed below.
- Left out. The answers also named an SEO software company, an ecommerce platform, a review management platform and two agency directory and ranking sites. Together they had 55 mentions. They are not agencies, so we left them out.

How far can you trust these numbers?
Treat them as one careful snapshot, not a verdict.
- One run on one day. Answers can differ by day, by phrasing and by user.
- Google AI Overview was recorded for only 4 questions, so most counts come from ChatGPT and Perplexity.
- If one answer used two spellings of the same name, merging could count it twice.
- One or two mentions can change a rank near the top.
- Only three engines were tested. Other AI tools may answer differently.
- A mention says nothing about service, licensing, fees or results.
