Track the Right Prompts, Not All of Them
Ask an AI model the same question twice. You get two different answers. That is not a bug. That is how these systems work.
Most brands respond to this by watching everything. They track every prompt they can think of. They drown in data and learn nothing.
The better move is narrower. Pick prompts you actually care about. Prompts tied to real buying moments. Then track those, and only those, over time.
Four kinds matter most.
Evaluation prompts ask which tool fits a use case. Reputation prompts ask if you are worth the price. Comparison prompts ask how you stack up against a rival. Gap prompts show where a competitor owns ground you have not claimed.
Each type teaches something different. Evaluation and reputation prompts tell you how you get recommended. Comparison and gap prompts tell you where you are losing before you even know the deal existed.
There is a trap hiding inside this work. Showing up is not the same as being recommended. A model can cite your page and still send the customer to someone else. Call it ghost ranking. You are present in the answer and absent from the decision. Without tracking, you would never know the difference.
Position also matters less than people assume. What matters is whether the model says true, positive things about you, consistently, across many runs. One good answer proves nothing. A pattern proves everything.
This only works as a habit, not a one-time check. AI answers are not fixed. The same prompt can return a different brand tomorrow. A single test tells you what happened once. Regular tracking tells you what is actually true.
Not every business needs this. If your customers do not use AI to research your category, skip it. If you cannot act on what you learn, skip it too. But if AI is already shaping how people find you, guessing is not a strategy.
beket.ai runs the right prompts against every major model, scores the answers against your real business data, and flags the gaps worth fixing. Stop watching everything. Start watching what counts.
