Meta Description
A short HTML summary of a page's content, often shown beneath the title in search results to entice clicks.
A meta description is a brief summary of a page, written into the HTML. Search engines frequently display it under the title on the results page, so it acts like ad copy for your link.
Good practice
Keep it under about 155 characters, summarize the page accurately, and include the main term naturally. It doesn’t directly affect rankings, but a compelling description improves click-through.
Why it matters
Two pages can rank side by side; the one with the clearer, more inviting description usually wins the click.
